Morning Blend 21 March, 2013

It’s World Down Syndrome Day! Ida Poitier-Turnquest, Vice President, Bahamas Down Syndrome Association, tells us about the work of the organization, and about her life with a now 21-year old son with Down Syndrome. We also talk via telephone with association president Cheryl Johnson-Newell, and with Wende Hanna, President of the recently formed Grand Bahama Down Syndrome Society.

We also discuss the need for a national plan clearly laying out the job/career needs in the country, and the need for more people to inspire their children to be creative in determining their future careers, instead of just seeking out jobs.
