Morning Blend 27 January, 2014

TODAY ON MORNING BLEND:

Just how many people are functionally illiterate in The Bahamas? Arthurlue Rahming, Administrator, Project Read Bahamas, suggests that the widely publicized international statistic for the country putting the literacy rate at about 95% does not accurately tell the full story. She discusses the work of her organization which teaches adults and children how to read free of charge.
Project Read Bahamas is trying to raise about $10K with a souse-out, Saturday, February 8, 9am-1pm, at its Village Road home base. Call 394-2426 for more information.

And “In The News”, BTC says the new “BTC Foundation” will not impact its level of charitable donation. And reaction to the Commissioner of Police’s “indirect response” to recent comments from the Prime Minister about not having his legacy tied to the Royal Bahamas Police Force and its leadership.

Plus our “Quote of the Week”.
