Morning Blend 19 November, 2012

In the wake of a number of reported suicides in the last few weeks, we discuss suicide in The Bahamas – the warning signs, causes, and how to treat a potentially suicidal individual – with Carolyn Roberts, Chief Clinical Psychologist with Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre.

We also discuss Baha Mar’s Christmas “Tree of Trees”. The resort is aiming to decorate its 40-foot wood-sculpture tree with ornaments made from recycled materials, and is calling on the community to participate in its ornament drive. Robert Sands, Baha Mar Senior Vice President of Administration and External Affairs, and Artist/Sculptor Antonius Roberts, who was commissioned to create the tree, give details about the project.

We also ask Sands about Prime Minister Christie’s recent statement that a question about allowing Bahamian residents to gamble in casinos could potentially be included in next year’s promised constitutional referendum.
