Morning Blend 10 June, 2013

Following another crime-filled weekend, we discuss solutions to the crime plaguing The Bahamas. Today, a number of talk shows across numerous radio stations in the country have pledged to dedicate time to find solutions to the crime problems.

Also, the Real Property Tax Amnesty Program is underway through the end of June. We get details on the four major aspects of the program from Roger Forbes, Controller of Inland Revenue & Chief Valuation Officer, and Livingston Ferguson, Senior Revenue Officer, both with the Ministry of Finance Real Property Tax section. For more information, log on to bahamas.gov.bs/finance.

And the Bahamian Contractors Association (BCA) contractors certification course is now available to all contractors in the country. BCA President Godfrey Forbes and Vice President Leonard Sands tell us why this government-endorsed training program offered through BTVI will reap benefits for the entire industry. Log on to bahamascontractors.org for more information.
