Morning Blend 17 June, 2013

Distraught parents, guardians and students from St. John’s College join us to discuss the controversial cancellation of the Class of 2013 graduation ceremony and prom. We are joined by student Eric Cox and his guardian Janet Cartwright, and student Jonelle Armbrister and her mother Chandra Newry and grandmother Cecilia Newry.

Also, we play and discuss excerpts from former Barbados Prime Minister Owen Arthur’s address to the “Bahamas at 40 Conference” at the College of The Bahamas on Friday. Entitled, “The Philosophy of Nation Building”, Mr. Arthur touched on issues including education, Value-Added Tax, and the Caribbean Court of Justice.

Plus, we discuss Prime Minister Perry Christie saying a deal is near on whether the government would be able to regain majority control of BTC from Cable & Wireless Communications.
