The Bar Council’s Annual Training Day and Retreat begins today. The event features panels dealing with a wide range of issues, including the proposed “practicing certificate” for lawyers, the restriction on admissions of non-Bahamian attorneys, and whether the Director of Public Prosecutions should be independent.
Elections for the Council’s executive posts are taking place as well. And a major banquet is set for Saturday.
It’s set for Melia Nassau Beach Hotel June 25-27.
