November 14, 2014: We learn more about the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grant Programme (SGP). The initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) “provides funding and technical support to projects that conserve and restore the environment while enhancing people’s well-being and livelihoods”.
National Coordinator Deon Stewart tells us about the programs that have been funded here in The Bahamas, and how established non-governmental organizations can qualify for grants.
Stewart also tells us about the Knowledge Management Fair going on now that will include a free lecture on Climate Change with Dr. Tracy Bach, Professor of Law, Vermont Law School tonight from 6-8pm, and a Climate Change Workshop from 2-5pm. Both events are scheduled for the Harry C. Moore Library at College of The Bahamas.
For more information about the available grants at the UNDP and the GEF and SGP, log on to sgp.undp.org.
Contact Deon Stewart at 394-0440 or email deons@unops.org.
