October 1, 2014: Union of Tertiary Educators (UTEB) President Mark Humes discusses the controversy surrounding the purported $400K annual salary request for prospective COB President Dr. Rodney Smith. Humes believes the request is “reasonable”, despite the college’s financial woes. He believes the successes Smith achieved in his previous stint in the post are proof that he is worth that amount.
Humes also outlines the union’s concerns and questions with BAMSI, the Bahamas Agriculture Marine Science Institute.

September 29, 2014: We discuss the Bahamas’ preparedness in the face of the latest Ebola outbreak in Africa. Dr. Delon Brennen, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Ministry of Health, outlines the symptoms, treatment and general prognosis of the disease, which usually has a very high fatality rate (as much as 90%). We also discuss how The Bahamas is monitoring the progression of the disease, and the screening measures currently in place.
