We discuss breast cancer in Men with Erika Robinson, daughter of Bahamian Track & Field legend, the late Thomas A. (Tommy) Robinson. Tommy Robinson survived a battle with stomach cancer, only to be struck down later with breast cancer. His daughter tells us that by the time it was determined that it was breast cancer, it was already at Stage 4 and had spread throughout his body. She laments the lack of awareness and information about Breast Cancer in Men.
That’s the reason Robinson’s part of the new “Blow the Whistle on Breast Cancer” initiative, sharing her father’s story with the public, and getting men aware of the risks. Veronica Duncanson, with the local Susan G. Komen (For The Cure Foundation), tells us about their education efforts here in The Bahamas.
