The Medical Association’s 42nd Annual Scientific Conference is set for March 5-7 at the British Colonial Hilton, beginning with a public lecture Wednesday at 6:30pm. This year’s theme is “The Next 40 Years: Forging the Way Forward”. National Health Insurance and Emergency Care will be among the many topics addressed during the conference.
“In The News”, as the latest and inexplicable LGBT-rights debate rages on in the country, PLP Chairman Bradley Roberts has come to the defence of Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell. Mitchell was this week blasted by BFM President Pastor Myles Munroe over his LGBT views that Munroe says do not represent the convictions of the majority of the Bahamian people. But Roberts says Mitchell has not said anything contradicting the stance of the current government, or even the previous administration. Roberts says Dr. Munroe “can go form a political party and he can try and win the government and he can try to attempt what he wants to change”.
