Strong condemnation for Leslie Miller from Donna Nicolls with The Crisis Centre, and Noelle Nicolls, former Women’s Editor, The Tribune, over his recent comments about physical abuse. Miller said yesterday he was only joking last week in the House when he admitted to regularly physically hitting a former girlfriend because she liked it, and he blamed the media for creating the ensuing firestorm. But his response draws even more ire from our guests and listeners.
Parenting classes are available free-of-charge to anyone through programs with the Department of Rehabilitative Welfare Services. Senior Probation Officers Cheryl Carroll and Lisa Bowleg tell us that despite the wealth of information available, unfortunately most of the people who currently take advantage of the classes are ordered to by the courts.
