Bus franchise owners give us their views on a unified public transportation system. State Minister for Transport Hope Strachan last week said the government hopes to finally have such a system in place during the next fiscal year. But from what our guests Harrison Moxey and Reuben Rahming tell us, that seems highly unlikely.

Was Wednesday’s March for Equal Economic Opportunities for Bahamians really effective, and what will come out of it? We put these questions to our listeners, and discuss the surprising comments from politicians during and after the rally.

“In The News”, we discuss whether The Bahamas is ready for a National Health Insurance Plan, especially with the horrendous dietary and lifestyle habits of so many Bahamians. We ask listeners if they are prepared to fund such a plan.
We also call for national plans to address the country’s widespread acceptance of criminal behaviours and criminal mentalities, and to get young Bahamian children dreaming about their futures, aspiring to long-term careers instead of temporary jobs, and setting them early on paths to achieve these goals.

Plus, the CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) Beach Soccer Championship will be held here in The Bahamas next week. It will feature 11 countries, including The Bahamas, and will mark the first time the event will be held in the Caribbean. It will also serve as a FIFA Beach Soccer Qualifier for the 2013 World Cup. Fred Lunn, General Secretary, Bahamas Football Association, and Team Bahamas members, Jason Edwards and goalie Torin Ferguson, join us, along with Coach Ramon Roya of Team Mexico, the CONCACAF Defending Champions.
