A multi-faceted examination of all aspects of life and culture in The Bahamas, particularly from the unique perspective of the Haitian community in the country, “Voices of the Diaspora” will feature bilingual (English and Haitian Creole) news and analysis, interactive discussions, and entertainment. Segments include “You Need To Know”, “Voice of the People”, “Youth Interaction”, “Artist Spotlight” and “Kompa Music Saturdays”.

Bahamian Gospel Artist Landlord brings a new show to @guardianradio96; “Caribbean & Urban American Gospel Hits” is a blend of talk and music. Each week Landlord teams up with U.S. Gospel Radio Personality, Mike D, to interview some of the biggest American, Bahamian and Caribbean Gospel Artists, and to showcase the newest and hottest Gospel Hits. The premiere show will feature Landlord & Mike D interviewing the legendary Shirley Caesar, regarded as the “First Lady of Gospel Music”.
“Caribbean & Urban American Gospel Hits” premieres Sunday, September 6, at 2:30pm.

Bahamas Chamber of Commerce & Employers Confederation Executive Director, Edison Sumner (pictured, 2nd from left), and the Chamber’s Chair of the Labour & Employment Division, Peter Goudie (2nd from right), discuss labour issues in the country, including the new national minimum wage, and some of the reported challenges and conflicts so far.
We also discuss the impact of a recent court ruling about expired industrial agreements, as well as the Chamber’s view that arbitration or mediation is the answer to the impasse with the stalled Baha Mar project.
